What ships in the box
An AA cell pack, cold-rated for an unheated metal building in January. We ship the first pack with the pod. You swap it with a fresh pack on a coffee break.
How long a pack actually lasts
- 16 °C – 28 °C building, single-shift duty: ~9 months between swaps.
- < 0 °C unheated building, single-shift duty: ~6 months.
- > 35 °C hot-aisle area, three-shift duty: ~5 months.
- A pod never goes silent without warning — see the low-battery alert below.
The low-battery alert
A low-battery notice hits the dashboard about 14 days before the pack gives out. The on-call contact you gave us at onboarding gets paged. You have two weeks of margin to schedule the swap, not an alarm in the middle of a shift.
Why it lasts as long as it does
The sensor is not continuously awake. It burst-reads the asset a few times per minute, sleeps between bursts, and transmits a tiny compressed packet. Duty cycle is bounded by design, not by accident.
The swap procedure
Pull the old pack. Drop in the new one. Close the lid. No pairing step — the same pod ID carries across, the dashboard shows green within five minutes of first transmission.
